Inheritance, succession certificates, nikah and family settlements.
An inheritance lawyer in Islamabad can work out who is entitled to what and help your family complete the legal steps.

Questions of inheritance and family property involve both religious principles and Pakistani statute. Our advocates help families work out each heir’s entitlement, document their settlement, and resolve disputes through negotiation or the courts.
Muslim personal law applies through the Muslim Personal Law (Shariat) Application Act, 1962 and is also shaped by statutes such as the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance, 1961. Section 4 of that Ordinance deals with the children of a predeceased child.
Families often settle an estate informally and discover the problem years later. A valid settlement should identify all heirs, record the correct shares, reflect true consent, and be followed by the correct transfer. Pressuring a sister, widow or other heir to give up her share can lead to later disputes and may be challenged.
Bring the death certificate, family registration certificate, CNICs, property papers and a list of known bank accounts or businesses. We will prepare a family tree, identify the heirs and advise whether the NADRA route or the court route applies.
Speak to an inheritance lawyer in Islamabad when a family member has died and assets need to be transferred, when an heir has been excluded, or when relatives disagree about a gift, will or mutation. Early advice is especially helpful if property is in another person’s name or if heirs live abroad.
Each of these needs a different approach. Some can be resolved through a family settlement. Others need a civil suit, a complaint under women’s property laws, or an application for a succession certificate.
Heirs living abroad are at particular risk of having property transferred without their knowledge. We can review the record and advise on a suitable power of attorney. Do not sign a general or blank document, and be careful about giving anyone wider powers than the task requires.
Our inheritance lawyer in Islamabad team can review your family tree and documents.
Please bring any wills, gift deeds and mutation records you already hold.

Shares of heirs are determined under Muslim personal law, subject to the applicable statutes. The result depends on who survives the deceased, so the family tree must be reviewed.
A woman has a legal right to her share. Laws such as the Enforcement of Women's Property Rights Act, 2020 give additional remedies in the areas where they apply.
In undisputed cases, heirs may use NADRA's Succession Facilitation Unit for assets in the Islamabad Capital Territory. Disputed cases usually need the court.
